Gordiy Starukh is a lirnyk, luthier, and music producer hailing from Lviv, Ukraine. His music seamlessly intertwines traditional Ukrainian songs and melodies with electronic elements. Central to his musical endeavors is the handcrafted kolisna lira (hurdy-gurdy), an ancient instrument deeply rooted in local culture.
Over the past decade, Gordiy has spearheaded its popularization, crafting over 200 instruments utilized by musicians globally. Beginning his solo career in 2017, he has since released three albums (the EP "Hmilnyj" in 2020 and the LP "Brama" in 2022, LP "Talan" 2023), along with participation in the Ukrainian edition of "The Voice" program.
A skilled multi-instrumentalist, Gordiy performs solo as a one-man band, playing several instruments simultaneously—hurdy-gurdy, percussion, and synthesizer. Since 2009, he has worked tirelessly as a luthier, dedicated to enhancing traditional instruments, particularly the "kolisna lira", garnering recognition within professional circles worldwide.
His solo career, initiated in 2017, continues his exploration of Ukrainian folk songs and melodies fused with electronic music, guided by the ethos that "old forgotten songs should live in the present."
Recently, he has collaborated with top Ukrainian artists such as Jerry Heil, KOZAK SIROMAHA, Zlata Ognevich, as well as Polish artists MIKROMUSIC and Dana Vynnytska (DAGA DANA).
